However, I think OSRS Gold has the potential to be able to celebrate its 30th anniversary because of the way the Mobile and Steam version of the game have introduced it to a wider audience. I'll definitely keep an eye out for future adventures particularly in the case of penguins and a Construction skill rework, and, should I require an afternoon break, I can always go back to Old School RuneScape.
The game you play for a thousand hours, but it doesn't mean that you're enjoying it. We've all seen that meme of someone giving an unfavourable Steam review, with more than 5,000 hours on record. But let's be honest that's not an ingenuous idea anymore.
I've spent countless minutes into Fallout 4, and I may have enjoyed about five hours. The rest was just the promise of fun, with that bloody 'kill, loot and return' loop tricking my brain into thinking it was enjoying itself. It's been interesting to read the things you've said about Skyrim and you've come back to it again. Pathetic, the lot of us.
And Old School RuneScape? I'm not sure. It's easy to spot one of these timesink games They consume your life, and then you moan about it online. However, RuneScape is different. When I'm not gaming, I'm not sure if I have an opinion on it. I just hear the music in my head, and feel a pull bringing me back to it. Finding out it was in my phone was a blunder. My family haven't been in touch with me for weeks.
RuneScape was among the pioneers in the field: a game purely focussed on engagement, that doesn't have to coincide with enjoyment. This isn't to say that the two are mutually exclusive It's just that there are options to keep playing even when you're not having enjoyment.
RuneScape also happens to be one of the best in what it does. I've been enjoying the fan documentary RuneScape Historical Timeline 1998 to 2020, that focuses on the evolution (it has really dominated all aspects of my life) and the creators were shocked by the fact that players could max out their stats in months, rather than years.
The most prestigious accounts were online for more ten hours a day, every single day. Then, when 2021 comes around, I can see why. If you're into the fantasy genre and you love the atmosphere, then the music lulls you in RuneScape Gold. Everything is so easy that your mind will fill in the blanks. This is probably why we became so enthralled as children, it's the perfect playground for you to explore your own world.
